Electrical Training
These accredited electrical training courses are primarily aimed at the Commercial Catering and Refrigeration Engineers, but can be adapted and delivered to any other electrical service industry, for example, pumps or the domestic white goods sector. All our courses are supplied with a bespoke built training manual to use throughout the course and on completion of the course, take away for valuable reference.
The electrical courses can be designed, built and delivered to new starters, apprentices and experienced service engineers. The courses can run from a 1 x day refresher through to a 3 x day full training and assessment programme, depending on experience and the candidate needs. (A pre-assessment of the candidate may be required prior to entry).
The 1 x day course will refresh and will give the candidate an up to date understanding on various topics including Health & Safety, Dangers & Legislation, the correct use of all test equipment in the field covering installation, maintenance and repair of commercial catering equipment or any other appliances. The course training and presentation includes live interaction at all times. Candidates are supplied with all test equipment if required, all the different types of controls and components allowing them an opportunity to practice the correct use of their test equipment and learn new testing skills.
The 2 and 3 x day courses include all the above plus the additional opportunity to get hands on and work on practical's which include live simulations catering equipment and test rigs. This allows candidates an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of using wiring diagrams, testing controls and fault finding circuits.
Alternatively all our courses can be built and worked around appliances of your choice based on what is in the field relevant to your business. All course can include knowledge assessments and optional test papers as a means of measuring performance. On completion of the course the successful candidate will obtain a competency certificate issued by Carl Hutchings Training (CHT).
CHT can also offer a bolt on course which includes the preparation and assessment for "Safe Isolation" for single and multiphase installations. A must for any engineer and to comply with the Gas Technical Bulletin 118 requirement.
The Safe Isolation course is run along side and certified through LCL AWARDS.
