In my earlier days I was lucky to have met Carl and attended one of his training courses, which was a real eye opener at the time, and a game changer. So when I set up on my own and took on one engineer and one apprentice which I needed to get them the right training. With Carls knowledge of the industry and his ability to prepare a training program second to none, he built a course to suit my requirements which was exactly what I needed. Being only a small business and working from home CHT professionally arranged the training arrangements and facilities for me taking all the worries away. I booked the a three day electrical and safe isolation course. I knew that Carl would do an excellent job training, but I was even more impressed with a daily update I got from Carl with the progress of the training. Carl explained all the areas of strengths and weaknesses of my staff, along with helpful and good advice as to what areas could be worked on within my organisation and out in the field. A training and development program so to speak. Both of my staff that attended came away with the knowledge and reference material that was amazing and their feedback on Carl’s training methods were superb. Carl always manages to find a way that the engineer can relate to and absorb knowledge. Carls courses do supply training manuals which you can tell are built for engineers, yes but more importantly for the practical's and hands on with huge range of components and test rigs they work on during the course. With the use of all types of meters etc. you actually get a chance to do what’s in the book and in relation to real life scenarios, which is a fantastic way of learning. Even as a small company like ours, training is essential and I needed value for money which I certainly got. As an engineer who has been on countless courses and training sessions over the past 2 decades, I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of information I took on and also retained. Carl has a unique way of ensuring that each candidate understands each segment but also will deliver the information in a relatable way. All to often a course can be death by PowerPoint or simply reading aloud from manuals, not with Carl. He will use slides to a minimum but instead prefers to get the individuals hands on with components and will refer back to a whiteboard to put it in layman’s terms. His photographic memory on component faults, error codes, access passwords and British Standard numbers is second to none, especially as some of those I have remembered from times gone by and he was not purely spitting out random jargon. As an experienced engineer, I found the course 110% valuable, especially as it was my money being spent, and has rebuilt my confidence working within the sector after becoming a bit rusty after a spell away from the tools. Run through the safe isolation procedure and how to work safely, Carried out lots of practical's and learnt about dishwashers at the same time.
